Viola odorata 'Alba Plena'

Pictured here is a young flower that has not fully opened. The greenish petals at the center will become larger and and pure white when they fully open a day or two after this photo was taken.

Another name for this plant is Viola odorata 'Swanley White.' An article in the “New York Times,” from 1991 by Tovah Martin gives some interesting and historical information on this flower.
