Primula auricula 'Stripey' This double flowered primrose has striped flowers. Sometimes there are purplish-red stripes on a cream background, and at other times the reverse, cream stripes on a purplish-red background. They are very nice either way. 'Stripey' likes the return of cool, moist weather in autumn and rewards us with a few flowers then. And they last well while the first frosts are only light frosts. As the nighttime temperatures become more severely cold, their flowering comes to an end. In spring their flowering season is April into May. |
