Iris ensata 'Raspberry Glow'

This is a Japanese iris. It likes more water than average, to the extent that it thrives growing in shallow water. One thing that it does not like is lime of any kind.

Among all the irises in the world, the Japanese irises are noteworthy for their flowering after the majority of others have finished blooming. After bearded irises have passed and Siberian irises are winding down will come the Japanese irises, blooming in June and into July.
