Hippeastrum x johnsonii Also named, Saint Joseph's lily, this relative of the florist's amaryllis grows from a bulb that flowers in April and May with fire-engine red trumpet shaped blossoms. It will grow as far north as USDA Zone 7, where winter temperatures can drop to about zero degrees Fahrenheit. |
