A demonstration of what often overlooked and diverse plants there are.
We can only scratch the surface of all that the world offers. Expect this list of plants to expand and shift over time.
** Plants ordered this summer will be sent in autumn. **
This is the website of a small nursery that sends its plants to people across the country. They are grown by us in the town of Sequim (pronounced “skwim”), in Washington State.
The plants offered are mostly flowering perennials, for a variety of climates. There are several ways the plants can be ordered. One of them would be your using our secure on-line shopping cart.
Please scan the list on the right to see if there is anything to interest you. These are plants we can send to you this fall. A link to our page of spring plants follows it. The number of plants on the spring list is longer than the number on the fall list. Besides what you see now, there are additional plants waiting in the wings to be added later in the year and also next year.
The list of plants is organized as one single, long alphabetical list. There are about one hundred and thirty plants on it, so it isn't too long.
You might be asking, “what additional plants will be added in the future?” Special interests of ours that you can expect to see increase are: evergreen perennials, fragrant plants, winter flowers, kniphofias, ornamental grasses, plants with foliage colored other than green, such as dark leaved plants and variegated plants, and ....things that go “bump” in the night.
We are plant propagators. And have had our share of successes and failures. If you are trying to get a plant start of anything that seems a bit difficult, ask us. We might be able to help. In addition to our experience we have a library of excellent reference books on the subject for guidance.
The plants offered for shipping are all grown here. And most of them are also propagated here.
Not all of the plants on this website can be left outdoors year around. One of the reasons for including them is to make a suggestion that you try combining them potted, in a flower arrangement of growing plants. Growing plants in containers will give you a greater range of plants to grow. Many of these are long blooming and not easy to find at garden centers.
Even though it has always been popular, container gardening has recently become more so. It is one of our great interests. And if you are ever needing suggestions on combining some of these in a pot, we would be happy to speak up.
On the plant list you will see a plant's cold hardiness either by a minimum temperature or the U.S. Department of Agriculture Zones where it can be grown. There is a link to their plant hardiness zone map on our links page if you want to check out your local zone.
We shall not cease from exploration.
And at the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. - T.S. Eliot
If the only prayer you say in your whole life
is “thank you,” that would suffice. - Meister Eckhart
